WSET Level 4 - D4 Sparkling Wines
With a focus on sparkling wines, this session will explore the art, science, and business of wine. This includes emphasis on viticulture & winemaking process, as well as growing environment, varietal options, winemaking decisions, even industry associations and business decisions – all of which lead to style, level of quality, and pricing. In addition, students will learn to accurately taste and professionally evaluate these principal styles.
Sessions:
Spring 2025 cohort: March 3 - April 6, 2025.
Registration deadline: February 15, 2025.
Fall 2025 cohort: Dates TBA (most likely November to December)
The Exam:
90-minute paper that combines both open-response theory questions and blind tasting of 3 sparkling wines.
Exam dates are set globally by WSET and offered every January and June, from 1:30pm to 3:00pm (typically on Wednesdays). Upcoming exam dates include: January 22, 2025 and June 11, 2025.
