WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits
This introductory spirits course introduces students to the major spirits categories including Brandy, Vodka, Whisk(e)y, Rum, Tequila and Flavored spirits. Students will learn how base material, distillation choices, and maturation impact and define these various styles and the variations within them. Discussion of these above will be further aided by guided spirits tasting using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting.
Students will also learn proper spirits service, with focus on bar equipment, glassware, service temperatures and cocktail making/construction techniques.
